Node yang participate di consensus Proof of Stake blockchain dengan stake token sebagai jaminan.
Penjelasan
Sobat Kripto, validator adalah backbone PoS blockchain. Lock stake (Ethereum: 32 ETH minimum solo), run validator software, validate dan propose block. Earn reward dari issuance dan transaction fee. Slashing kalau misbehave atau down. Validator role mirip miner di PoW tapi based on capital stake, bukan computational work.
Validator Ethereum
Solo validator: stake 32 ETH (sekitar Rp1 miliar), run validator client (Geth, Lighthouse, Prysm, dll), maintain 24/7 uptime. Reward 3-5 persen APY. Slashing kalau double-sign atau down extended period. Total validator Ethereum lebih dari 1 juta. Decentralization Ethereum tergantung jumlah validator independen yang terdistribusi geographically.
Pool/Delegate Staking
Solo validator butuh capital tinggi dan technical skill. Alternatif: stake via pool (Lido, Rocket Pool) atau exchange (Coinbase, Binance). Delegate stake ke validator yang sudah berjalan. Trade-off: lower minimum, easier, tapi capture less yield (pool fee 10-15 persen) dan dependency ke pool operator security.
Validator Risk
Slashing risk: kalau validator misbehave. Untuk solo: penalty up to 32 ETH max. Untuk pool: distributed across stakers. Liquidity risk: ETH locked, withdrawal queue (saat ini days to weeks). Smart contract risk untuk liquid staking. Untuk Sobat Kripto: solo validator butuh dedication. Pool/exchange staking lebih accessible untuk most user.
